Newsletter: Summer 2012


Here in the Winelands, Spring is well known for green vines, green shoots and green, green grass. Grass at this time of year is very high in Vitamin A, which also results in extra-delicious cheese! September through to November are our peak milk months, as a result of this delicious grass and the calving season, which has now almost come to an end.

The farm is looking forward to the change of season. With Autumn, the time has come to start sowing new pastures. Our jersey cows continue to provide us with their delicious milk despite the hot and extremely dry summer which we have experienced.

Rob & Petrina joined the Who's Who in the Dairy Industry & attended a Masquerade evening for the 2011 SA Dairy Championships Dinner on 27th April in Stellenbosch. Both their Huguenot (10 and 18 month mature) and Wineland Chef's Camembert were awarded 2011 South African Champions.
